Lammas Walk & Ceremony

We walked from the Sun Circle to the sound of the drum, feeling the Heartbeat of this Earth. We gathered edible plants, plantain and dandelion, as well as medicinal herbs, like yarrow and chamomile, wild flowers, leaves from each of the trees and hazelnuts, with biscuits made by Susan Lomas with a little Wheat & Barley saved from last years crop together with Wheat and Barley given by the farmers of Avebury from this years Harvest. We gave offering in thanks of abundance from Our Blessed Earth at the foot of Silbury Hill.

The afternoon was spent enjoying a tribetime picnic on the green located at the car park, with the most awesome view of Silbury Hill. Our little Gathering grew with random foreign visitors joining our picnic and sharing bread. A 21st Century Druid Gathering, I think our visitors to Avebury enjoyed what they found and were made very welcome.
